Artist's Statement
Alissa Whalen has been working with fair momentum in clay for over 10 years, and sporadically since her childhood. Red stoneware being a favourite, using mostly earth tone glazes, Whalen's pottery encompasses functional tableware, sculpture-esk wall hanging art, and clay necklace pendants.
Taking inspiration from nature, Whalen experiments with form, texture and glazing techniques as much as possible.
Whalen Art Pottery Studio is located 15km north of Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls, where pottery classes are ongoing, small in class size, and in a beautiful environment to enjoy.
