On November 28th, Michelle Ferrari and Teresa Kashuba visited June Goodwin's studio to do a segment on Chex TV's 5 O'clock show. There were at the studio for almost three hours learning to throw. You'll see by the photos that they had a great time, and had to do the famous potter's scene from the movie Ghost.

The program aired on November 29th on Chex TV, but you can watch it above, or on YouTube.

Empty Bowls event at the YWCA

YWCA Empty Bowls Event 2011All of the guests at the YWCA Empty Bowls luncheon were astounded are the wide variety of bowls and plates from which to choose. So much so, that many of them decided to purchase a second bowl. At least a dozen restaurants provided delicious salads and Stickling donated baskets of bread.

This event provided us an opportunity to talk about the guild and hand out the cards with our Christmas Sale dates to the guests.

My sincere thanks to Liz and Jackie for coming to help set up and check bowls. And thanks to Karen and Jackie for helping guests select their bowls and wrapping their chosen piece. A special thank you to all guild members who donated bowls and plates, as well as Silent Auction items.

YWCA Event Volunteers

In particular, I would like to express my gratitude to those members who took the time to donate to this event, despite the fact that they also supported other "empty bowl" functions. The Empty Bowls Event raises moneyguild really came together to make this an outstanding luncheon. We had our 15 seconds of fame on CHEX-TV the evening of the luncheon. A photo from the event was in the Examiner the next day and we have a small photo in the July issue of Snap Newspaper.

Thanks everyone - Lillian

September 28, 2010 - Lillian Forrester

Welcome to a new page where we will highlight awards, shows and other news from our guild members.

Lillian Forrester has recently heard that she will be included in an upcoming Lark 500 series book.

Lillian made a few pieces last year and submitted them to lark books call for entry. In February 2010, "Overseer" was donated the to the Burlington Art Centre for their annual Art Auction. The photo of the piece was included in the BAC publicity folder, newspaper and web PR and it ultimately sold for $275 at the auction.

Lillian just received notification from Lark, almost a year after submission, that this piece "Overseer" had been accepted. Past presenter to KPG Anne Armstrong has also had a horse hair raku piece accepted.

Congratulations, Lillian!
